The Black Stars captain says he is not aware of the Blues’ official interest in his services.
Asamoah Gyan as quashed any speculation about his imminent move to the english premier league side.
It was widely reported that the forward will be moving to the English side in the summer transfer window.
This is what he said about him moving to the premier league outfit :
“It is not true that Chelsea have made my club an offer, neither have the club [Shanghai SIPG] told me that my services are no more needed,” Gyan told Boss FM.
“I was only informed by friends and colleagues that I was close to joining Chelsea per stories on the internet, but I told them that I have not heard anything.
“It can only be true when it is a done deal. I don’t work with internet stories. It is about negotiations and it is the work that I do.
“If any club shows up and my club agrees and I also agree personal terms with them, which is possible though, that is only when I can say a deal has been reached.
“Until that is done, I laugh off internet stories.”
Gyan, who joined his current Chinese club from Arabian side Al Ain in 2015, transferred to Sunderland after an impressive showing at the 2010 Fifa World Cup in South Africa.
