Black Stars winger Christian Atsu has signed a contract with Saudi Arabian club Al Raed after leaving Newcastle United.
He joins Afriyie Acquah to become the second Ghanaian footballer to move to the Asian country this transfer window.
It is the 29-year-old’s first club outside Europe since beginning his professional career with Portuguese outfit Porto.
In an interview with Ghanaweb recently, Atsu, who endured a torrid time at Newcastle United last season, was optimistic he still had what it takes to continue playing in Europe next season.
Al Raed is Atsu’s fourth permanent club after Porto, Chelsea and Newcastle.
