Germany beat Ukraine in ongoing Euro 2016

Shkodran Mustafi’s first international goal set Germany on the right path as the World Cup holders opened Euro 2016 with a 2-0 win over Ukraine.

The ex-Everton defender headed home a sumptuous cross from Toni Kroos after 19 minutes to open the scoring for Joachim Low’s men, and settling nerves after a difficult build-up to the tournament.

In the final seconds Bastian Schweinsteiger latched on to a pinpoint Mesut Ozil pass to put the result beyond doubt in Lille.
