Real Madrid slap £64m price tag on Alvaro Morata with United and Arsenal interested

Chelsea have been rebuffed in an opening move for Alvaro Morata with Real Madrid demanding £64million.

The Spain international officially returned to Madrid from Juventus this month after they activated a buy-back clause at £26m but the Champions League winners want to recoup more than double their outlay for the 23-year-old.

His agent Juanma Lopez was in the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu offices on Friday as Chelsea made an opening proposal. Arsenal and Manchester United have also posted interest also.

Chelsea are continuing talks with Napoli over centre back Kalidou Koulibaly but may lose out to the Italian side on £20m-rated Zenit St Petersburg midfielder Axel Witsel who also had an offer from Everton.
