Drake’s ‘Views’ Finally Dethroned From No.1 at Billboard 200

After and impressive and historic nine-week reign at the top, Canadian born Drake’s “Views” has finally been given the boot from the Billboard 200 chart.

Drake was dethroned from the top slot by Blink-182’s California. The punk group’s first album with new guitarist Matt Skiba debuts at No. 1 with 186,000 total copies sold this week.

172,000 of the total copies of “California” are from traditional album sales, making it the third-largest sales week for a rock album in 2016, behind Radiohead’s “A Moon Shaped Pool” and David Bowie’s “Blackstar”. The record is the band’s second No. 1 album, following their 2001 LP “Take Off Your Pants and Jacket”.

Drake however does not lose much as his Views slips to No. 2 with 117,000 units. Maxwell’s “blackSUMMERS’night”, a follow-up to 2009’s “BLACKsummers’night”, debuts at No. 3 with 59,000 units. Beyonce Knowles’ “Lemonade” lands at No. 4 with 39,000 units, while Twenty One Pilots’ “Blurryface” descends to No. 5 with 38,000 units.
