I don’t belong to any political party– Amakye Dede

Highlife legend, ‘Abrantie’ Amakye Dede has debunked reports that he is a member of the opposition New Patriotic Party after he was spotted on the party’s campaign trail in Agogo in the Asante Akim North district.

According to him, he does not belong to any political party and that any party that contracts him to sing for them, he will gladly do so and get paid.

In an interview with Accra based Peace FM, he said “I was hired by an NPP MP who paid me and hired my singing band to join their party open their new office at Agogo in the Asante Akim North constituency of which I did as per the payment given me”.

“I will never involve myself in politics…When I had an accident recently, even President Mahama visited and paid for my hospital bills,” he added.

The ‘iron boy’ hit maker stated he has not pledged allegiance to any political party, and is ready to work with any political party that is ready to pay for his services.
