Manchester United outcast Bastian Schweinsteiger has revealed that he will not consider a move to another club in European football and his long-term future now seems certain to lie in the MLS or Asia.Given his wife Ana Ivanovic’s tennis commitments, a move across the Atlantic to America would appear the more likely option as Schweinsteiger calls time on his time in Europe at the age of 32.
Schweinsteiger did hint he could remain at Old Trafford this season, saying: ‘I will be ready, if the team needs me’, having been cut adrift by Manchester United’s new manager Jose Mourinho.
Writing on Twitter, the German World Cup winner said: ‘MUFC will be my last club in Europe. I respect other clubs, but Manchester United was the only one which could make me leave Bayern Munich. I will be ready, if the team needs me.
‘This is all I can say about my current situation. I want to thank the fans for their amazing support over the recent weeks.’
The legendary German midfielder is not training with the United and he is currently following a personalised fitness regime as he is forced to change in the club’s Under-23 dressing room.
