Blackstars Captain Asamoah Gyan is in talks to buy Liberty professionals Football Club. Gyan who is a former player of the Dansoman based club is reportedly in an advanced stage of negotiations with owner, Felix Ashong.
The deal was confirmed by lawyer and business manager of the Al-Ahli Dubai F.C striker earlier this week. Not long ago, Gyan rescued the financially-stricken club by paying their salaries and bonuses.
“I can confirm that we are in talks for major stake in Liberty but it is far from being done deal yet,” Samuel Anim Addo, Gyan’s business manager, told the state-owned Graphic Sports Newspaper concerning the deal.
“Liberty is close to Gyan’s heart and he wants to invest in the club which gave him the platform to reach the heights he has attained as well as ensure the dreams of and Liberty’s founder, Alhaji Sly Tetteh, are sustained. It’s also his way of honouring his mentor and keeping his legacy.
”Both before the deal can go though, Gyan needs the blessing of Alhaji Sly Tetteh’s family.”
