One of Ghana’s finest female Gospel Musicians Ohemaa Mercy has recounted how life was for her before she became a Gospel Artiste.
Speaking to Nana Romeo On Accra100.5FM, the Edin Jesus hit maker revealed that she was once detained in a hospital for a week because she was unable to afford the 70 cedis hospital bill after she was operated upon during child birth. Ohemaa mercy explained that, the health insurance system had not been introduced at that time.
“My husband and I couldn’t afford to pay GHS70 after I was operated on during child birth. Because of cash-and-carry I was detained in a hospital for a week. The day I was released, after we managed to pay [the bill], the sutures came off and I couldn’t afford to go back to the hospital for fresh stitches, so I went home and couldn’t walk straight…for six months.
“Through it all God made a way. I thought I would remain that way for life but glory be to God who had pity on me and rescued me.”
Ohemaa Mercy has been in Ghana gospel music industry since 2004.
