Akuapem Poloo’s lawyers refuses to take blame for the Ghanaian socialites sentence, insisting that her guilty plea did her more good than harm.
If Akuapem Poloo, also known as Rosemond Brown, had not pleaded guilty, her sentence would have been tougher, according to her lawyer, Andrew Vortia.
He explained: “When we were in the case management conference stage, we evaluated all the evidence against her; the pictorial evidence and the witness statement. We realised that we don’t have a good case”.
He mentioned that if she had been found guilty after two or three months of trial proceedings, she would face tougher punishment.
Miss Brown’s counsel said that as a first-time offender, pleading guilty to the charges was the best option.
As a reminder, Akuapem Poloo was sentenced to 90 days in prison for taking naked photos with her son.
