Ghanaian actress, Efia Odo, has expressed her disappointment following a restraining order from the Accra High Court to stop the #FixTheCountry demonstration.
The demonstration was slated for May 9, 2021.
According to Efia Odo, the court could not stop the electoral campaign but rather, people who want to come together to fight for the country are being prevented.
“It wasn’t dangerous to campaign during the COVID but it’s dangerous to peacefully protest against bad Leadership??? Lies! Lies! Lies! I can’t believe this. This breaks my heart, I’m so sad,” she said.
An Accra High Court issued a restraining order to the conveners of the #FixTheCountry demonstration on Thursday, May 6, 2021. The conveners earmarked May 9, to embark on a peaceful demonstration to express their grievances and petition the government to work on the economic challenges facing the country.
According to court order issued by Justice Ruby Aryeetey, the demonstration will not take place until the restriction on social gatherings are lifted in the country
