Kennedy Agyapong, a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has alleged that a Chinese ‘galamsey’ operator has the backing of members of the party he belongs to.
He made the allegation whilst speaking about the issue of ‘galamsey’ in a new interview on NET2 TV.
He insinuated that non-citizens are able to illegally mine in the country without worrying about repercussions because they have the support of a ‘big man’.
“The mindset of Ghanaians is so horrible. Can Ghanaians go to China and mine gold like they are doing here?” questioned Agyapong.
“There is a guy I took to court who lost the case. He is still mining gold in the country. If I tell you the kind of NPP leaders who support him. It’s sad.”
