Peter Attah, father of the late General Constable Emmanuel Osei, the police officer who was shot dead in Monday’s bullion van robbery attack at Jamestown in Accra, says the best way the country can honour his son’s memory would be to prevent the killing of more police officers in their line of duty.
According to him, Police officers are not well protected, and to prevent similar tragic events from occurring, the government must provide the police service with protective instruments to fight crime.
“My son is dead; I will not say I’m counting on him, but from my own observation, the security service is always left ajar; so they should be protected so that they can work well and protect us,” he said in an interview with CITI FM’s Nana Tuffor Boateng.
The slain police officer’s father said he will miss his son dearly. According to him, his relationship with his son was like that of siblings.
