Asante Kotoko captain, Emmanuel Gyamfi may miss the all-important title-deciding match against rivals Hearts of Oak if the Disciplinary Committee of the GFA bans him for misconduct for stamping on the foot of Inter Allies forward Andy Akpe.
Gyamfi, in the match against Inter Allies, was captured on camera stepping on the foot of Akpe during an off-the-ball incident.
The 26-year-old winger has until close of work Friday to respond to the charge, after which he will know his fate.
“Emmanuel Gyamfi: You: on 14th of June 2021, during the match between Inter Allies FC and your team at the Theatre of Dreams, did stamp player number 45 of Inter Allies (Andy Okpe) in an off-ball situation around the 65th minute of the game, an action which in the opinion on the association is an improper and likely to bring the game into disrepute,” the disciplinary committee said in a statement.
With Asante Kotoko playing Hearts of Oaks in 11 days at Accra Sports Stadium, fear has gripped the camp of Kotoko as they hope their captain will not be suspended and miss the game.
