Former Asante Kotoko boss and current president of Ghana Rugby Association, Herbert Mensah has blasted founder and leader of Light House Church, Dag Heward-Mills over his criticism of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
Bishop Dag in a leaked audio criticized the Asantehene for doing little for his people, and also mocked him for sleeping with girls.
But reacting to the Bishop’s comment, Mensah said in a recorded video that he was extremely disappointed in the respectable man of God for denigrating the Asantehene.
“I was deeply sad when I received a recording of Bishop Dag of Lights House denigrating the structure and the position of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. I feel sad for many reasons because first I guess Bishop Dag is a gentleman who many of my friends are associated with and they hold him in a very high esteem, and therefore comments of these nature which are unacceptable in any context should not be out in the public for people to listen to it and make judgement on it,” he said.
“Light House is a huge organization, but it is not Asanteman. I’m saddened because the seat of Asantehene, of Otumfuo, is greater than what many people realize. Otumfuo Osei Tutu has represented something to himself more than building edifices to himself or castles, etc. It is wrong and misleading to make comparison between Otumfuo and the president,” he added.
Herbert Mensah also slammed those who leaked Dag Heward Mills’ audio because he feels they have betrayed the pastor’s trust.
