Former BET Director, Ghanaian-American Lilian Blankson Passes Away

Former Black Entertainment Television (BET) Director, Lilian Blankson has reportedly passed on to glory.

Her death comes barely a week after the annual event had taken place in Los Angeles.

Blankson, an American of Ghanaian descent and a BET Alumni was pivotal to the inclusion of the Best International Act category at the BET awards scheme which celebrates black entertainment and oversaw the inclusion of many African musicians awarded in the category.

She was 46.

Her death has triggered outpouring of tributes from Ghanaian entertainers like rapper Sarkodie and actress Lydia Forson.

“Lillian. I don’t know what to say.. Thanks for always putting me on and the many opportunities, first time I was in BET was because of you. Thanks for your words and love always,” Lydia Forson wrote on Twitter.
