We Should Consider 5 Years Per Term For Ghanaian Presidents – John Dumelo

Actor John Dumelo has called for a five-year term for presidents in Ghana.

According to the movie star cum politician, a four-year term is simply not enough for a country like Ghana.

He said the first year of the presidency is used for settling down while the last year is for campaigning — so the presidents are left with only two years for governance.

He made this suggestion on Twitter.

John Dumelo is not the only Ghanaian politician who hold such views. Former president John Agyekum Kufuour before he left office in 2009 also proposed a five-year presidency to parliament.
