The University of Ghana Council has appointed Professor Nana Aba Amfo, as the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University.
She takes over from Vice-Chancellor Professor Ebenezer Oduro Owusu whose tenure ends July 31st.
Until her appointment, Amfo was the Pro Vice-Chancellor for Academics and Students Affairs at the University of Ghana.
She will be acting in the position till a substantive vice chancellor is appointed.
However, Amfo, who has been teaching at the Ghana’s premier university for 20 years, is widely tipped to be appointed as the substantive vice chancellor of University of Ghana.
Professor Amfo, 49, started her career in academia started in 2001 as a Lecturer in the Department of Linguistics, was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2007, Associate Professor in 2011, and Professor in 2017.
