Assin Central MP, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong correctly predicted the outcome of the 2020 Assin North Election petition.
In a video sighted by StandupGh.com, the controversial legislator is seen at an NPP campaign ground before the 2020 election telling supporters that the then NDC parliamentary candidate will be removed from office even if he wins the elections as he is a Canadian citizen.
“Even if he wins, let’s see if he stays in parliament for even two months? Because he has lied. He holds Canadian passport. I have all documents to show that still he is a Canadian,” he said.
And true Kennedy’s words, the Assin North MP Joe Gyaakye Quayson, despite remaining in parliament for more than two months, was removed from office after the Cape Coast High Court canceled the 2020 Assin North parliamentary elections.
The court presided over by Justice Kwasi Boakye also ordered for fresh elections to be conducted in the constituency.
Despite the court’s decision, Joe Gyakye Quayson is not barred from contesting the upcoming Assin North parliamentary election.
