Current Kotoko Players Lack Quality- Majority Leader Kyei Mensah Bonsu

Majority Leader of Parliament, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu has slammed current Asante Kotoko players for their underwhelming performance this season.

According to the self-confessed Kotoko fan, the current players simply lack quality and cannot be used to challenge for titles.

Speaking to Kumasi-based Silver FM in an interview, the politician stated that these players cannot be compared to the renowned Kotoko players of the 60s and 70s that won the club numerous titles.

According to him, no player in the current team can even make the first team of Kotoko in the 60s, 70s or 80s.

“If you look at the time of the likes of Yaw Sam Kofi, Osei Kofi and Oliver Acquah, and compare to the current players of Asante Kotoko, clearly it will be very difficult for them to make the first team.

“Maybe they will have to settle for the reserve team of Kotoko. If we are being truthful to ourselves,” he said.
