United Showbiz, aired on UTV and hosted by actress Nana Ama McBrown, is arguably the biggest entertainment show in Ghana right.
However, the show, despite its success, has received criticisms from fans and pundits over the host’s credentials.
The movie star often takes flaks on social media for failing to control her guests on the show. She has been labeled by critics as “soft”, “unfit” and “incompetent” for the hosting job.
Few weeks back, there were even calls for her to be removed as the host when she failed to control dancehall star Shatta Wale, shockingly allowing him to verbally assault panelist Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo.
But responding to the criticisms over her hosting credentials for the first time, Nana Ama McBrown in an interview with Graphic Showbiz stated that is is not true that she can’t control her guests.
According to her, she always wants her guest to freely express themselves on the show.
“I am an actress and I know how it feels when you are prevented from pouring your feelings out. I allow them to say whatever bothers them then we find a better solution for it. I will not be happy if I cannot express my emotions on a particular issue,” she said.
