Veteran Ghanaian broadcaster and actor Amankwah Ampofo says he feels nauseous when listening to broadcasters reading news in twi.
In a rare interview with Kwasi Aboagye on Peace FM’s Entertainment Review show, the former GBC broadcaster said the twi newscasters in the country are not serious and he absolutely hates listening to them.
According to him, in reading the news, one must stick to the facts and avoid colouring of the news — that was what they taught them in journalism school.
The 70-year-old said that twi newscasters must avoid jokes and adding their opinions when reading news on radio or TV.
Amankwah Ampofo, who retired from radio about a decade ago, is widely regarded among the finest broadcast journalist of his generation.
