President Akufo-Addo has appointed former Deputy Minister for Information, Pius Hadzide as the Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA).
His appointment is pursuant to Section 11(1) of the National Youth Authority Act, 2016 (Act 939).
Hadzide replaces former CEO of the Authority, Sylvester Matthew Tetteh, who is currently the member of parliament for Bortianor-Ngleshie Amanfro constituency.
The National Youth Authority (NYA) formerly known as the National Youth Council (NYC) was established in 1974 by NRDC 241. It is thus, a Statutory Public Organization with the mandate to coordinate and facilitates youth empowerment activities in Ghana to ensure the development of the Ghanaian youth as a whole.
Pius Hadzide, 42, is an an alumnus of the University of Cape Coast and Accra Technical Institute. He is currently studying for his LLB at the University of London.
