It’s official! Cristiano Ronaldo is finally back at Manchester United to embark on his second stint with the club.
The 36-yer-old Portuguese was signed on a two year deal with an option for extension.
“Manchester United is delighted to confirm the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo on a two-year contract with the option to extend for a further year, subject to international clearance,” the club announced on its official website on Tuesday.
According to reports, Man Utd paid Juve €15m (£12.87m) plus a further €8m (£6.86m) in add-ons for Ronaldo.
Cristiano after signing the contract said United is a club that he loves dearly and can’t wait to meet the players and play in front the fans at Old Trafford.
“Manchester United is a club that has always had a special place in my heart, and I have been overwhelmed by all the messages I have received since the announcement on Friday,” he said.
“I cannot wait to play at Old Trafford in front of a full stadium and see all the fans again. I’m looking forward to joining up with the team after the international games, and I hope we have a very successful season ahead.”
Ronaldo during his first spell for United scored 118 goals in 292 games. He also won multiple trophies with the club including three premier league titles and a champions league trophy.
