Ama Benyiwa Doe Was An NDC Icon- Mahama

Former president John Mahama has reacted to the death of politician and NDC stalwart Ama Benyiwa Doe.

Ama Benyiwa Doe, a former Central Regional Minister and Member of Parliament for Gomoa West, died on Sunday morning in Tema.

Taking to his official Facebook page to eulogize her, the former president said he is saddened by the death of Benyiwa Doe whom he dubbed as an “one of the most inspirational icons in NDC”.

“I have received with deep sadness, news of the demise of one of the most inspirational icons to have served our party, the NDC, and this great nation,” Mahama wrote.

“She was not only a politician, but also a gender activist and champion of women’s rights. Ama Benyiwa Doe was an embodiment of limitless courage, commitment and passion for service.

“May her soul rest in eternal glory.”
