Accra Hearts of Oak have broken their silence over rumours that their new signing Gladson Awako has quit the club.
Awako was expected to make his competitive debut in the match on Sunday, but he was not included in the squad that won 2-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium following rumours that he has quit the club because of spiritual reasons.
Opening up for the first time since the rumours about Awako’s exit, Hearts of Oak in a statement admitted that their new signing is going through some personal problems that has prevented him from playing football.
“Our recent signing, Gladson Awako has experienced some personal difficulties that have prevented him from playing football and starting for Hearts of Oak so far.
“The club expects him to sort out those difficulties soon so that he can rejoin his colleagues and resume playing football,” a statement by the club read.
