The Ghana Police Service has directed one of his officers to refund 200 cedis forcefully withdrawn from a traveller’s MOMO account.
The officer who is stationed at “Last 2 Barrier”, a suburb of Yeji in the Bono East Region, on September 16, allegedly stopped a motor rider and his friend at the police checkpoint.
He then forcibly took the rider’s mobile phone and threatened him to reveal his password after which he transferred an amount of GH¢200 to his Momo number 0244517503 registered with the name, Ngbangala Kwame.
After withdrawing the money, he deleted transaction records but thanks to the service provident the records were retrieved.
Upon reaching his destination, the victim narrated his ordeal to the leader of the Tijanniya Movement Sheikh Abdul Faili Maikano Jallo, who called the police commander in Prang and reported the issue to him.
The police officer has now been forced to refund the money!
