Daddy Lumba Is Very Humble Despite His Legendary Status- Appietus

Ghanaian music producer Nana Appiah Dankwa popularly known Appietus says he is constantly in awe of the humility of legendary Ghanaian musician Daddy Lumba.

Speaking in an interview with Doctar Cann on Happy98.9FM’s Ayekoo After-Drive Show, Appietus said despite Lumba’s success and achieving an iconic status in the industry, the 57-year-old is still very humble and works like a hustler starting his career.

“One big artiste I’ve seen who has that zeal and humility when you’re working with him is Daddy Lumba. No matter how big a name this man has made, when he is working with you, he still works like a hustler. Working with him is like working with young, energetic boys at the studio,” he said.

He added that the “Aben Wo Aha” hitmaker is a perfectionist, and that motivates him to put in his very best when producing him. “I knew I had to live up to his expectation or go above that and that was my motivation to start producing wild beats,” he said.

Appietus in the interview also bashed arrogant musicians who don’t want to listen advice because they think they are too talented.

“Those ‘I have the talent’ artistes are very difficult to work with because they think they know it all and are always relaxed. With that, they can never move forward but the artistes who are very eager and zealous about music will do whatever you teach them to do,” said.

Born Charles Kwadwo Fosuh, Daddy Lumba is widely regarded as the greatest Ghanaian musician of all time. The 57-year-old has released countless of monster hits in his 30+ years career in the music industry.
