President Nana Akufo-Addo’s daughter, Edwina Nana Dokua Akufo-Addo on Saturday tied the knot with Kwabena Jumah, the son of Maxwell Kofi Jumah, the Managing Director of GIHOC Distilleries Company Limited.
The marriage made headline all over Ghana, with many people praising the couple and their families for the simple marriage ceremony.
Breaking his silence on his son’s marriage to the president’s daughter in an interview with Kwame Nkrumah Tikese on Okay FM, Kofi Jumah said he only got to Know of his son’s affair with Akufo-Addo’s daughter only a year ago, and he advised his son to understudy her and not to rush in the relationship because of her public status.
“When I got to know it was the President’s daughter, I had to look at my son’s commitment level to the relationship because this is not something you can go into and leave just like that. I needed to be sure he was into the young lady,” he said.
He also said his son told him he met Edwina Akufo-Addo four years ago in the United States, and they been close since then.
He added that his son didn’t even know that his future wife is the daughter of President Akufo-Addo neither did she know about the family of Kwabena Jumah.
Speaking about the character of Nana Addo’s daughter, he said she is very humble and doesn’t even behave like she is the president’s daughter. According to him, Edwina do visits the his family in Kumasi all time, hanging out with in laws.
