No Ghana Card, No Salary – Controller And Accountant General To Government Workers

The Controller and Accountant General has in a recent statement released online revealed that government workers must endeavor to have their Ghana Card from the National Identification Authority before December.

According to them those who fail to get their Ghana card would not have their salaries paid to them as the Card would be integrated into their system so they can easily be able to pay all their workers without difficulties.

They further revealed that the new directive would help to harmonize its database so that it can be able to facilitate biometric and unique identification for all workers who are on the government payroll.

They further revealed that they are partnering with the National Identification Authority to achieve their aim as all those who fail to comply from December 1 would not receive their salaries.

The Ghana Card is a national identity card that is issued by the Ghanaian authorities to Ghanaian citizens – both resident and non-resident, and legally and permanently resident foreign nationals. It is proof of identity, citizenship and residence of the holder. The current version is in ID1 Format and biometric.
