Former president John Mahama has graded Jean Mensa an “F” for her performance as the chairperson of the electoral commission of Ghana.
Mr. Mahama was reacting to Jean Mensa’s comments about the 2020 elections being “historic” one which has become a model for other democracies in the world.
Speaking on Cape FM as part of his Thank You tour in Central Region, Mahama described the recent general elections as the worst organized in the history of Ghana.
According to the former leader of Ghana, the 2020 General elections was not a credible one as it had multiple cases of irregularities.
“Tell me which election in Ghana was ballot papers printed yet one million ballot papers were found elsewhere… We didn’t witness this under Dr Kwadwo Afari-Gyan. She [Jean Mensa] knew there was ballot stuffing,” he said.
Mahama added that the elections organized by Jean Mensa was the most violent in the fourth republic of Ghana.
“I have taken part in elections since 1992 as an MP. I haven’t seen a situation where soldiers were holding guns at collation centres. We normally have police, immigration officers etcetera there,” he added. “Eight people have died, which election did we have in Ghana that eight people perished?” he said.
