Ghanaian musician Shatta Wale was on Tuesday night arrested by the police.
The arrest comes 24-hours after his PRO Nana Dope disclosed that he (Shatta Wale) had been shot by unknown gunmen, which news turned out to be a hoax.
The Police in a statement on Facebook said they arrested the dancehall musician to help with investigations in the alleged shooting incident.
According to their release, it was Shatta who turned himself in after declaring him wanted.
“The Police have arrested Charles Nii Armah Mensah popularly known as Shatta Wale.
After we publicly declared him and one other person wanted, the suspect, Shatta Wale, turned himself in today Tuesday 19th October, 2021, at 8.59pm.
“He has been arrested to assist the Police in investigations for his alleged involvement in the creation and circulation of information intended to cause fear and panic,” the statement read.
Prior to Shatta’s arrest, the police had detained his PRO and Eric Venator, alias Gangee.
The Police also arrested the Prophet Jesus Ahuofe, the prophet who prophesied that Shatta Wale will be killed on October 18.
