Shatta Wale Remanded Into Police Custody For One Week

Shatta Wale has been remanded into police custody for a period of one week

The dance hall king had been arrested three days ago over an expensive joke he played on Ghanaians in which he feigned his gun shot and went into hiding

Unfortunately for him the Ghana Police took interest in the matter and upon finding out that it was just a publicity stunt by the artiste had him arrested

Shatta Wale appeared before the Accra Circuit Court on Thursday, October 21, following his arrest

In a video sighted by Standupgh after the court proceedings while he was escorted by police into the police van, the artiste could be heard shouting” Ghana people I wanna sleep in prison for life” as his fans cheered him on

Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., is a Ghanaian reggae-dancehall artist. He is known by his stage name Shatta Wale, formerly Bandana. His best-known singles are “Dancehall King”,my level and we taking over which led him to win the Artiste of the Year at the 2014 edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. Wale is also an actor who appeared in the films Never Say Never, The trial of Shatta Wale and Shattered Lives. Wale’s 2004 recording “Moko Hoo” was nominated for a Ghana Music Award.

In 2014, he peaked to number 38 on ETV’s “Top 100 Most Influential Ghanaians” Awards chart. He has since then appeared on the chart every year. He was ranked “Most Influential Musician” on social media in 2017. He made a record-setting as a dancehall artist to have won 11 awards at the 2019 3 Music Awards ceremony.
