The Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr, has tipped Minister of Communication and Digitalisation, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, to be the NPP’s running mate for the 2024 presidential elections.
He said the move will be a form of reward for her resilience and loyalty to the party over the last couple of years
“She Ursula is a potential Vice President”, Kwesi Pratt said on Good Morning Ghana on Wednesday, October 20, 2021.
He said his sources told him the firebrand politician is being groomed to partner the next NPP flagbearer as the party readies to ‘Break the Eight’ in the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.
“My intelligence I am gathering is that she is closer to that,” Kwesi Pratt revealed.
Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful is currently the Member of Parliament for the Ablekuma West Constituency.
Ursula Owusu-Ekuful is a lawyer, women’s rights activist and a Ghanaian parliamentarian representing Ablekuma West constituency. She is currently the Minister of Communication and Digitization.
She worked for ten years as a lawyer at Akufo-Addo, Prempeh & Co. law firm before moving into the telecommunication industry to lead a telecom, technology company.
Owusu-Ekuful served on different boards and in different capacities in her professional career. She served as a Managing Consultant, N. U. Consult Legal, Governance and Gender Consultants. She was the acting Managing Director of Western Telesystems (Westel) from September 2005 to May 2008, and from April 2008 to January 2009, she was the Corporate and External Affairs Director, ZAIN Ghana.
