Actress Nana Ama McBrown has opened up about the distress she went through following her inability to conceive a baby.
The movie star tied the knot with with her longtime partner Maxwell Mensah in 2016 and gave birth to their daughter in 2019.
In the three year period before she got pregnant, the Kumawood star stated in an interview on Obra Ne Woaa show that she faced ridicule and criticism from the public and that made her very sad.
According to her, no married woman in her 40s is happy that she can’t give birth so Ghanaians should stop attacking women finding it difficult to conceive.
She revealed that she went to six fertility clinics in Ghana to aid her conceive because she was desperate to have a baby. Some of the clinics she went to are KNUST hospital and Medifem.
“There is no woman past 40 who is happy she can’t conceive. She may pretend sometimes but deep down she wishes she had a baby. So when we meet someone going through such problems, we should rather motivate her instead of asking questions like ‘when are you giving birth’.
I did fertility treatment six times. I went to Koforidua, Tech (KNUST), Medifem. If I say all it will shock. I thank God that despite what people said, whether one or two or three, I have my child,” she said.
