Tracy Sarkcess has opened up about her personal life in a rare interview.
In an interview with Edma Lawer on MX24 TV, the wife of musician Sarkodie, who is the founder of Project BRAVE organization, stated that she doesn’t want to be known just for her marital ties.
According to the mother-of-two, she used to work while living in Germany but became a stay-at-home mom after relocating to Ghana to start a family with her husband.
Tracy told Lawer that what motivated her to start her own business is that she wants her children to be able to tell the profession of their mom when people ask them.
She said she wants to be an independent woman and not depend on her husband’s wealth.
“I was in the workspace in Germany before I came to Ghana. Obviously I was working for someone. But then coming here to be a stay-at-home mom for a while, and then coming back to the workforce, it’s definitely my kids,” she said.
“Because I want my daughter to be able to go to school and then when they ask her what her mum does, everyone knows what her dad does. But then when they ask her what her mom does your mom do, she will be able to say some something. So I think that is one of the things that really motivates me.
“Also basically having a purpose for myself because if you don’t have your own purpose or plans of what you want to do and what motivates you to wake and dress up to do that grind every single morning.”
On pressure of being a wife of a superstar like Sarkodie, she admitted that it is sometimes becomes “overwhelming” but having a supporting spouse has really helped her.
Tracy Sarkcess’ Project BRAVE organization is a social enterprise aiming to change the narrative by connecting , inspiring & empowering young Ghanaian women.
On Saturday, Project BRAVE organized a walkathon at Legon Botanical Garden to raise awareness about breast cancer among young Ghanaian women.
