Ghana Striker Majeed Waris Honoured With A Doctorate Degree From Hartpury College (UK)

Ghana strike sensation Abdul Majeed Waris has received an honourary doctorate degree from Hartpury College (UK)

The striker, now 30 and approaching the twilight of his career received the honour on thursday, November 4, 2021 during a ceremony held on the college campus

Abdul Majeed Waris who was born in Lamashegu in Tamale in the Nothern Region moved to England at a young age

The striker expressed his gratitude to the institution for the honour bestowed him

“I’m honoured to receive the sports honorary degree Award in Hartpury college (UK) yesterday,” he wrote on Twitter.

“[I] Want to say a big thanks to RTD and Hartpury college for their continuous support and also to my family, friends and team mate.”

Born in Tamale, Waris started his career at the Ghanaian Right to Dream Academy when he was twelve. He moved to England and joined Hartpury College, while simultaneously gaining a place at the Nike Academy, where he would go on to feature in the reserves side at Forest Green Rovers.

He currently plays his football in france for Ligue 1 side Racing Strasbourg
