Junior High Schools Start 2021 BECE Today With Over 571,000 Registered Candidates And 2,158 Centers – GES

The 2021 edition of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) commences today, Monday, November, 15. This examination is written by those at the basic level that is Junior High Schools (JHS) as a means of evaluation for promotion to the secondary level that is Senior High School (SHS).

In acknowledgment of the commencement of the Basic Education and Certification Examination (BECE), Ghana Education Service, the institution responsible for its organisation has since issued a press release through its public relations department, and it reads;

“Management of Ghana Education Service (GES) wishes to remind particularly, Candidates, Teachers, Heads of Basic Schools, Directors of Education and the general public that the 2021 Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) will start from Monday 15th November 2021 to Friday 19th November 2021 at all the designated 2,158 Centres across the country,”

A total of 571,000 candidates have been reported to have been registered for this years examination and will be writing it 2,158 designated centers across the country. As the BECE commences today, students, parents, teachers, invigilators, supervisors, school authorities and all major stake holders have all been advised to play their roles to ensure there are no examination malpractices recorded in this years examination.

The Ghana Education Service has said that it will be working in tandem with the West African Examination Council (WAEC) to ensure the smooth running of the examination at all centres across the country. Also supervisors and invigilators have been advised to adhere to the COVID-19 protocols at all centres
