DCE Of Guan District Confirmed Dead After 11 Days In Office

The first ever District Chief Executive of the newly created Guan district in the Oti Region, Marlon Anipa has been reported dead. It is said that Mr. Marlon Anipa passed away at the Hohoe Municipal hospital after feeling sick in the late hours of Monday, November 15, 2021.

It is reported though unconfirmed that is death was due to a heart attack. It is said he was last seen visiting BECE candidates who started their examination yesterday.

Marlon Anipa once contested as a parliamentary candidate for the Hohoe constituency under the NPP and is said to have been a good friend of the president, Nana Akufo-Addo. He was appointed to be the District Chief Executive of the newly formed Guan district after receiving an unanimous endorsement from all 19 members of the Guan District Assembly.

Mr. Philip Adom, an assembly member for Santeokofi Gbordome expressed his shock at the news of Marlon Anipa’s death. “We are very shocked by the news of Mr. Marlon’s death. His appointment brought hope to our people, only for him to leave us this way. We can only wish him eternal rest in the Lord” Philip Adom told Citi News.
