Nike Delays Travis Scott Sneaker Launch Over Astroworld Tragedy

Nike has decided to postpone collaboration sneaker launch with Travis Scott with the controversy currently surrounding the musician after 10 people lost their lives at his Astroworld festival

“Out of respect for everyone impacted by the tragic events at the Astroworld Festival, we are postponing the launch of the Air Max 1 x Cactus Jack,” Nike said in an email to users of its SNKRS app on Monday.

The sneaker launch had been previously earmarked for a December released and Travis Scott even took advantage of his Astroworld festival to market the products unfortunately the festival ended in disaster with 10 people losing thier lives and many countless people sustaining injury. Travis Scott has had to face criticism from all quaters with many blaming poor security and crowd control and even Travis Scott himself failing to control the crowd leading to the deaths of 10 people including a 9 year old boy who lost his life from injuries sustained during the crowd surge

It is yet to be established who is to be held accountable for the tragedy a the festival but with current happenings, Travis Scott seems to bear the brunt of the blame. His usual team ups with Nike sell out quickly but due to the current controversy surrounding the musician, Nike is treading lightly.
