Premier League power house, Manchester United have parted ways with club legend, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. This news comes after an emergency meeting was called and held by the club hierarchy after their lackluster defeat to bottom side Watford at vicarage road which left the club languishing in the 7th position on the Premier League table
The club legend was appointed as caretaker manager after taking over from Jose Mourinho following his sacking in 2018. He went on to improve the team’s performance helped them claw their way into the top 4 on the premier league table thereby earning them a spot in the champions league. He was appointed full time manager in March 2019 following his good works with the club.
He signed a new and improved 3 year contract with the club in 2021 but things have just not gone according to the script for him and the club this season as the sit in the 7th position on the league table after a poor string of performance stretching back to September in which they have recorded only one win from a potential 7 premier league matches.
The sack is set to cost the club a considerable amount of money for terminating his contract prematurely but the club is ready to cut their losses considering how things have been going for them on the field of play in a season where the general expectation was they would be challenging for the premier league title which has quickly been changed to title pretender.
Michael Carrick will take over duties from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the club go on the hunt for a manager who can take them to the next level as it is the general consensus that the club can achieve with the current crop of players which boast of five balon d’or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo.
