Controller And Accountant General’s Department Deducts GHC1,194.63 From November Salaries Of Teachers In Ghana

In what can best be described as an unfortunate turn of events for teachers in the country, the Controller And Accountant General’s Department is said to be considering making deductions on the pending November salaries of teachers in the country.

Information made available to our outfit indicates the deductions which include a ghc100 National Teaching deduction for renewal of Teacher Licenses including a ghc509.55 deduction on the one Teacher one laptop initiative laughed by Government on their November salaries

The deductions mean the will be a ghc200.00 increase in taxes paid by teachers, and the sum of all the deductions made on their November salaries add up to ghc1,194.63

This is sure to cause a public outcry amongst teachers in country as they are sure to be overburdened as prices of goods and services continue to increase daily in the country.
