Prempeh College Pip PRESEC To Win 2021 NSMQ

Prempeh College have emerged winners of the 2021 edition of the National Science and Maths Quiz, beating last year’s winners, Presbyterian Boys School (PRESEC) and Keta Senior High School (KETASCO) to the crown.

The Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (PRESEC) were hoping to make it number seven thereby widening their gap on Prempeh College as the school with the most wins at the National Science and Maths Quiz. As things stand PRESEC are with six wins at the NSMQ competition while Prempeh’s win today ensures they keep the chase on PRESEC with win number five.

Prempeh College’s win means they will be walking home with the whooping sum of GHC80,000 as the winners cash prize and an addition GHC40,000 from Absa Bank as an excellence award. The second runners up, the Presbyterian Senior High School (PRESEC) and Keta Senior High School (KETASCO), are not left out as they will both be taking home GHC64,000 and GHC50,000 respectively for their troubles.

Keta Senior High School (KETASCO) made history in this year’s competition as first time finalist of the NSMQ and have done themselves very proud after giving the so called big boys a run for their money.

Prempeh College won the first edition of the National Science and Maths Quiz in 1994, winning it 2 years later in 1996. They went on a 19 year drought before eventually winning the competition again in 2015 and 2 years later in 2017. Their win this year means they are now five (5) winners of the National Science and Maths Quiz, one shy of their runners up, PRESEC.
