Wizkid Wins African Artiste Of The Year At The 2021 Apple Music Awards

Wizkid continues to put Nigeria and Africa on the global map with his exploits in the global music industry. His latest exploit worth celebrating is the ‘Big Wiz’ has just be awarded African Artiste of the Year at the 2021 Apple Music Awards.

Apple, in recognition of the best artistes in 2021 and their hard work and influence on the global culture, announced the winners of the third annual Apple Music Awards.

The Apple Music Awards 2021 was to honour the achievements of the best deserving artiste in five clear cut categories. Artist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Breakthrough Artist of the Year, Top Song of the Year, and Top Album of the Year. Winners are chosen using two processes that mirror the music editorial perspective of Apple and the songs customers are listening to most across the globe.

Apple Music Awards introduced new categories for this years award scheme, in a bid to acknowledge the works of Regional Artist of the Year, that is to recognize the works of artistes from four countries and one continent; Africa, Germany, Japan, France, and Russia

“The past 12 months have proved to be a remarkable year for music, and we’re thrilled to honour the artists who are shaping culture and connecting with fans around the world on Apple Music,” said Oliver Schusser, Apple’s vice president of Apple Music and Beats. “This year we’re also recognizing more regional artists, showing the world the impact of extraordinarily talented musicians who are making waves globally.”
