Chaos Grips Parliament As Minority Confiscate Speaker Of Parliament’s Seat

Never has there been the level and chaos in parliament as witnessed today as the majority and minority in parliament were at each other’s throats over the approval of the 2022 Budget and Economic Policy statement, dubbed the ‘Agyenkwa’ budget.

There was confrontation and exchange of unprintable words that ensued in the parliament house that involved both the majority and minority. The chaos erupted after the first deputy speaker, Joseph Osei Owusu (JoeWise) ruled against the motion of the minority to vote to overrule the approval of the 2022 National budget.

The minority side of parliament is of the view that the approval of the budget was unconstitutional and as such sought out the first deputy speaker, Joseph Osei Owusu, who is standing in for the speaker of parliament, Alban sumana Kingsford Bagbin, who is currently in Dubai seeking medical health care, to overturn what they termed as an illegality

The rejection of their motion to overturn the approval of the 2022 budget by the deputy speaker, using the constitution and standing orders of parliament as a basis did not go down well with the minority who began to agitate

Their confrontation and exchange of words fell short of a fist fight but in a video sighted by standupgh.com, members of the minority seized the seat of the speaker as the speaker suspended proceedings for an hour and was on his way out
