Alhaji Grunsah Labels Asamoah Gyan Ungrateful For Siding With South Africa In Soft Penalty Claim

Football administrator, Alhaji Grunsah has gone on a rant, name calling Asamoah Gyan for saying that Ghana’s penalty against against South Africa, was indeed a soft one. The Black Stars secured qualification to the play-offs of the Qatar 2022 World Cup after beating South Africa by a 1-0 narrow margin

A first half penalty won by Black Stars defender, Daniel Amartey and duly converted by Black Stars captain Andre Dede Ayew was what separated the two teams on the night. The penalty has since been a bone of contention between the two countries even weeks after the match had been played with the South African FA lodging a complaint to CAF and FIFA of an alleged match fixing.

And reacting to the saga, former Black Stars captain and striker, Asamoah Gyan said that he felt the penalty was too soft and that the Black Stars defender went down too easily.

“I think the incident was a bit casual. From where I sit and how I saw it I think Daniel Amartey went down too easily but the referee was closer to the spot and probably had a better view of the situation,” the ex-Ghana captain said.

His comments did not sit well with most Ghanaians, most especially Alhaji Grunsah who has come out to set the records straight with the ex-player.

“Asamoah Gyan is ungrateful and a pretender, he won’t even get the opportunity to become a ball boy, he should stop talking about the penalty against South Africa,” the King Faisal owner lashed out on Asempa FM.
