Borussia Dortmund star and England international, Jude Bellingham has attracted the attention of German police as he has been placed under investigation over match fixing comments he made about referee Felix Zwayer after he officiated in their match against league leaders Bayern Munich in which they lost 3-2
Jude Bellingham was not well pleased after Bayern Munich were awarded a penalty by the referee in question and that penalty duly dispatched by Bayern Munich striker, Robert Lewandowski proofed to be the winning as Bayern Munich went on to win the match.
Jude Bellingham went on an outburst after the match, questioning the integrity of the match official on the day, making reference to a previous match fixing scandal referee Felix Zwayer was found guilty of in the past. His comments however is now being investigated by the German police after a criminal complaint was filed.
The case is set to be forwarded to the Dortmund public prosecutor’s office, who will then determine whether criminal charges be made against the midfielder or not.
Dortmund were left frustrated on the match they after the referee waved away their appeals for a penalty only to turn around and award a penalty to the opposition which those associated with Dortmund feel was never a penalty.
In his interview, Bellingham told ViaPlay: ‘You give a referee, that has match fixed before, the biggest game in Germany, what do you expect?
‘For me, it wasn’t [a penalty]. He [Hummels] is not even looking at the ball and he’s fighting to get it and it hits him.
‘You can look at a lot of the decisions in the game.’
