Ex-Barcelona Striker Samuel Eto’o Elected President Of Cameroon FA

Former Barcelona, Inter Milan and Chelsea striker, Samuel Eto’o has been elected president of the Cameroonian Football Association, the Cameroonian Football Association announced today Saturday, December 11, 2021

The former player who was a star name in European football emerged with 43 votes in the elections to beat nearest opponent, Seidou Mbombo Njoya, who emerged with 31 votes to the presidency.

This is the second votes being held for the president of Cameroon Football Association after the first elections which was held in 2018 and won by Seidou Mbombo Njoya, was adjudged null and void by the Court of Arbitration in January

Samuel Eto’o, who is a four time African footballer of the year and a champions league winner expressed his confidence in emerging victorious in the build up to the elections during the filing of his candidacy, ” I will be the next president of the federation despite all the cheating.”
