David Beckham Set To Be Knighted

Having finally had his name cleared by the taxman, former Manchester United player and England international, David Beckham is finally in line for knighthood.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid player, who is now 46 is reported to have had his name to the nomination list and is set to have his named moved up the official recommendation list for next June.

This latest development comes ten years after David had his name smeared in a tax-avoidance scheme. His name was categorized in red by the taxman which invariably meant he was barred from any recognition but has now had his name upgraded to green.

Meaning Manchester United and England legend has finally become eligible to be knighted after a protracted tax-invasion debacle.

MPs and charity campaigners lauded the move saying that a knighthood for one England’s most successful players and avid charity fundraiser was “long over-due”.
