Novak Djokovic Denied Entry Into Australia

World number 1 ranked tennis star, Novak Djokovic’s opportunity to play in his 10th Australian Open perfectly balanced after it was reported that the Serbian tennis player was denied entry into the host nation, Australia on Thursday after initially being exempted medically from going through the country’s COVID-19 vaccination requirements so he could feature in the Australian Open.

The Serbian tennis star was left stranded in Australia’s Melbourne Tullamarine airport, and was issued a letter from the Australian Government indicating that his visa had been denied and he would be removed from the country today, Thursday, January 6, 2022.

It is revealed that Djokovic and his legal team would file an injunction to prevent him from being removed from the country as the player was looking forward to a record breaking 21st Grand Slam win at the Australian Open.

In an embarrassing series of events, Novak who touched down into Australia at about 11:30pm, Australian local time after a 14-hour flight from Dubai was moved to an isolation chamber by a police guard after being told by Australian officials that his visa did not give him medical exemption privileges.
